René Palacio

René serves the SIM global community as the International Director of Governance and Corporate Affairs. He ministers with SIM’s 40+ entities in the adoption and exercise of good practices for non- profit governance through scriptural principles of stewardship, accountability and generosity. His passion is to see SIM boards giving godly direction to the ministries in their geographical areas in fulfilment of SIM’s mission and purpose to cross barriers with love to those living and dying without Christ.

Rene joined SIM in 1997. Along with his wife, Lilli, and their five children, they initially served as missionaries to Southern Africa, embracing a variety of roles in leadership, finances and community projects. In 2001, they transitioned to the SIM International Leadership Team, based from the USA. They enjoy family, serving in ministry, photography and the great outdoors.
